We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our dynamic mining team.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering from a recognized university.
- Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in mining operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or senior engineering role.
- Strong knowledge of mine planning, geology, and the mining cycle.
- Proficiency in mine planning software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Good communication and report-writing skills.
- Membership of a recognized professional body will be an added advantage.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, design and optimize mining operations to ensure safe, efficient and cost-effective extraction of mineral resources.
- Prepare and review mine plans, schedules, budgets and production targets, and monitor performance against targets.
- Conduct feasibility studies, mine design, and resource/reserve estimation.
- Oversee drilling, blasting, loading, hauling and processing operations to maximize productivity.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and regulatory standards.
- Lead and mentor engineering and operational teams.
- Investigate and resolve operational challenges and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations and documentation for management and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with geologists, surveyors and other departments to achieve organizational goals.
