REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Mineral Processing Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 2 years’ relevant professional experience in mineral processing, with practical experience in gold processing operations.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in gold ore processing and beneficiation techniques.
- Good understanding of crushing, grinding, classification, gravity concentration, flotation, leaching, and gold recovery processes.
- Experience with process plant operations, process control, plant optimization and performance monitoring.
- Ability to analyze process data and identify opportunities to improve gold recovery, plant efficiency, and production performance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Good knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements applicable to mineral processing operations.
- Membership of a recognized professional body will be an added advantage.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor, control, and optimize gold processing operations to achieve maximum recovery, throughput, and plant efficiency.
- Oversee and optimize crushing, grinding, classification, gravity concentration, flotation, leaching, and gold recovery circuits.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve gold recovery and reduce processing costs.
- Monitor key plant performance indicators, conduct process evaluations, and recommend corrective and improvement measures.
- Work closely with the geology and mining teams to understand ore characteristics and ensure consistent feed quality to the processing plant.
- Ensure effective monitoring of reagent consumption, water usage, energy consumption, and other processing inputs.
- Identify and troubleshoot process bottlenecks, equipment-related issues, and recovery losses.
- Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production reports for management.
- Ensure that all processing activities comply with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Lead or support process improvement initiatives and introduce best practices to enhance plant performance.
- Train, guide, and provide technical support to processing plant operators and junior technical personnel.
