The House of Representatives Committee on Solid Minerals has pledged its support for the Nigeria Mining Cadastre Office (MCO) towards the realisation of government’s desire to diversify the economy through the solid minerals sector.
The Committee Chairman, Rt. Hon (Dr) Micheal Okon Enyong stated this when he led other members on its first visit to the Nigeria Mining Cadastre Office earlier in the week.
The Chairman expressed the importance of the oversight functions of its Committee, saying that the system of checks and balances in governance is to ensure the overall development of the Agency in particular and the nation in general.
In his response, the Director General, Engr. Obadiah Simon Nkom while expressing his gratitude to his guests for the visit, gave a breakdown of the operations of the Agency, and thereafter led the Committee Members on a tour of the facilities of the Agency.
