Chief Oworu, is an experienced Exploration/Economic Geologist with B.Sc and M.Sc degrees in Geology from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria and Windsor, Ontario, Canada respectively. He also obtained a certificate in the development and management of geology and mining projects from Prestea, Ghana.

He worked in both public and private organizations after retiring from the Nigerian Mining Corporation (NMC), Jos, as a Chief Geologist. With NMC, he established the commercial/economic viability of the Gold deposits at Iperindo and Itagunmodi, both within the Ilesha Schist Belt, in Osun State.  Chief Oyewola Oyeniyi Oworu served as Consultant/Resource Person with the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), Special Adviser to the Hon. Ministers of Mines, Power and Steel from 1992-1993, and Special Technical Adviser to the Hon. Minister, Ministry of Solid Minerals Development 2002-2003. He worked as Consultant on artisanal and Small Scale Mining Projects to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). As Special Adviser/Technical Adviser, he was the Secretary of the Presidential Committee on Solid Minerals Development that focused on ‘A Seven-Year Strategic Action Plan for Solid Minerals Development’. He also coordinated the current National Policy on Barites and Bentonite Production in Nigeria; the Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining Programme; National Airborne Geophysical Survey Project amongst others.

He was Executive Director, DSV Pipetronix, a pipeline integrity survey company with Shell Petroleum Development Company; pioneer Managing Director, Gateway Fertilizer Company Limited, based in Abeokuta, and developed the utilization of Phosphate deposit in Ifo area of Ogun State for fertilizer production. With Lagos State Government, he served as Executive Director, for the establishment of the Lekki Free Trade Zone, Lagos;  Director, Paragon Petroleum Limited;  Managing Consultant, Professional Environmental and Social Consultants Limited; Chairman, Amazon Energy Limited and currently, Chairman and CEO, Walled Resources Limited, a Mining and Geosciences Projects Consultancy firm, where with his team of Geologists, has carried out various Geological Exploration projects for Gold, Cassiterite, Tantalite, Lead, Zinc, Barites, Limestone, Semi-Precious Stones, Kaolin, Dimension Stone and various other metallic and non-metallic minerals for local and international clients. He features prominently with the Rock Post Magazine.

Abdulsalam Lukeman Omuya

Omuya, in 2012, driven by professional passion, under the auspices of Anthracyte Ltd., an exploration consultancy outfit, initiated the publication of Nigeria’s geological and mining activities as his contribution to the development of the local industry.

As the foundation initiator and promoter, along with other interest group, registered The Rock Post publications as an independent unit with the Corporate Affairs Commission.

Omuya is an award-winning geologist. He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Tech) degree in Geology from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State, Nigeria. He has also acquired other diplomas in Architecture, Geological Science Laboratory Technology and is about to conclude a Master of Science (M.Sc) degree in Environmental Resources Management. He has about 15 years’ experience across Geological Exploration, Mining & Mineral processing, Environmental consulting and now, Publications.

Aliyu Maigari Mamman

Editorial Adviser

Aliyu is the backbone behind The Rock Post Publications.  He is an astute, strategic entrepreneur and a trained geologist with over 30 years of cognate experience on the field. He has cut his teeth in the Mining industry as a renowned businessman and gem collector. He holds a B.Sc in geology and MBA from China Europe International Business School.  The Chief Executive Officer of Water Treatment and Technology Company of Nigeria (WATTCON) and 3MGeo Resources Ltd, a Solid Minerals resources value Chain Company.

Mekwunye Kidochukwu Prince

Columnist

Kidochukwu holds a Bachelor’s of Science in geological sciences from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka and has practiced for over a decade.

A passionate hydro-geologist and an advocate for better water resource management policies and attitudinal changes in Nigeria; Kidochukwu is a member of several international water, sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) organizations.

Ajayi Olufemi Olakunle

Consultant

Olufemi Olakunle Ajayi holds a first degree in geology from the Federal University of Technology, Minna and a graduate degree in Applied Geoscience (exploration geophysics) from University of Lagos. He has over eight years’ experience in mineral exploration.

Onukogu Kanayo Jubal

Executive Editor

Jubal, a trained and experienced journalist, joined the team in 2017. He holds a Bachelor of Science in geology from the Nasarawa State University, Keffi; a post-graduate diploma (Pgd.) in journalism from the International Institute of Journalism, Abuja and is a certified safety professional and member of the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPoN).

Aliede Patience

Secretary

Patience joined the team in 2014. A Bachelor of Science (B.Sc)-holder of the National Open University of Nigeria, Aliede has a good experience in photography. She is the ‘data bank’ of The Rock Post Publications.

Odutola Alfred Bolarin

Consultant

Alfred holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in mining engineering technology from the Kogi State Polytechnic Lokoja. He has about 19 years’ managerial experience in dimension stones and aggregates quarries. His other experiences cut through quarry equipment fleet management and human resources development.

Deinsam Ogan

Managing Editor

A distinguished Earth and Environmental scientist, Deinsam Dan Ogan, sits onThe Rock Post Publication’s editorial board as a non-stipendiary volunteer – Managing Editor. He is the author of the top-selling “Fundamentals for Exploring the Mining Sector” (Available at: https://www.amazon.com/Fundamentals-Exploring-Minng-Sector-D…), and “Gas to Liquid Technology: Its Technical, Economical and Environmental Impact” (Available at: https://www.amazon.com/Gas-Liquid-Technology-Economical-Environmental…). He is also an active contributor toThe Rock Post   magazine.

He is an affiliate researcher with the University of Wolverhampton, a trainer and on-demand instructor, but primarily, a federal geologist with the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, Abuja, Nigeria.

Ogan holds a B.Sc in Geology (University of Port Harcourt), a PGC for GIS in Environmental Management (Oxford University, UK) and an MSc in Environmental Management (Coventry University, UK). He has also bagged several certifications, alongside field and work experiences in Europe (UK/Germany).
