Why are you at this Nigeria Mining Week event?
The Nigeria Mining Week is one of the most important events in mining not only in Nigeria, but I would say in the region and indeed in mining world. And after the few years of Covid-19 when we didn’t meet physically, we were more than happy to be part of this edition that allows us to meet.
Tell us what distinguishes your product from other similar ones in the market
As I mentioned before we will be celebrating 100 years next year as we have been in the market since 1923. Our solutions are known for quality and presentation and our staff for excellent customer service and technical support. It is no wonder then that most of our clients are repeat customers. We also do not call them “products” they are “solutions”, we ask our clients what is the problem they want to solve or what do they want to do, what is their application, and we then come up with the solution, in form of one of our products.
Your presentation at the event was very commendable. What other mechanisms do you rely on in promoting these exotic equipment?
To be honest our solutions sell themselves for the most part and of course word of mouth or recommendations from others who have used our products is of great help. We do also participate in events like this, and we organise product presentations and demos which usually yield positive results.
What was your experience like, and would you say the visitation to your stand has been satisfactory?
Visitation to GuidelineGeo stand was quite satisfactory throughout the period of the conference.
What area will you advise the organizers to improve upon?
Although the organizer’s did quite well by having a number of sessions running concurrently, identification of appropriate venues was a problem at the beginning. However as time went by, things became better.
What is your projection for penetrating Nigerian market in the next 3 years?
We are hoping to come back for more events not only in Abuja but in other parts of Nigeria to penetrate the market, as we all know Nigeria has a huge potential that we hope to tap into.
Security concerns prevented some of your personnel from attending this year’s event. Would you say this apprehension is justifiable?
We are happy that it has been a safe and successful event so far, but we understand the management’s position also that it is good to be cautious and since they knew they would be well represented locally they were not too worried.
What is your proudest moment in this year’s event in the course of your equipment promotion?
When I made clarification on the need for miners to engage the services provided by our geophysical equipment and the listeners applauded the explanation, I felt so good.
